ONE Kasi: Arts and Culture Summit — South Africa · 2024
ONE KASI: Arts and Culture Summit is a three-day international gathering in South Africa developed and produced by Maia Maiden Productions and Charles “Slenda” Mafafane of Ubuntu Arts that brings together artists, cultural leaders, and community organizers. Through workshops, discussions, performances, and collaborative exchanges, the summit creates space for creative dialogue and shared learning across cultures.
Rooted in the belief that arts and culture are powerful tools for connection and transformation, ONE KASI fosters global relationships and artistic exchange. The summit supports artists in expanding their networks, sharing knowledge, and building partnerships that strengthen creative communities locally and internationally.
Diaspora, Music, Dance & Hip Hop Culture — Cuba · 2024
The collaboration between Maia Maiden Productions and Son Dos Alas brings forth a culturally rich and immersive journey to Cuba, rooted in education, artistry, and connection. Through thoughtfully curated experiences, participants explore the vibrant history of Havana, engage in meaningful exchanges with some of Cuba’s most celebrated artists, and take part in dynamic workshops centered on the rhythms and traditions of Cuban music and dance.
This experience, designed and executed by Son Dos Alas led by scholar Dr. Melisa Riviere, reflects a shared commitment to fostering global understanding through creative expression, offering a unique opportunity for cultural discovery, artistic growth, and lasting connection beyond borders.
APAP Cultural Exchange — South Africa · 2019
Maia Maiden Productions ignited a powerful cultural exchange rooted in connection, creativity, and shared history across Johannesburg. Artists moved through spaces where history lives and breathes, engaging with the legacy of resistance and resilience while building new narratives together. Dance became a universal language, bridging continents as bodies told stories that words alone could not hold. Spoken word and muralism transformed public spaces into living canvases, amplifying voices, honoring place, and leaving lasting visual and poetic imprints.ript
Through intentional community and artist meetings, deep relationships were formed, grounded in mutual respect, learning, and the exchange of lived experience.
